A standard card is usually the most basic credit card that a credit card issuer can offer to its customers. A standard card will typically cost a consumer less to have than some of the more prestigious-looking Gold, Silver or Platinum credit cards. An individual with good credit and an average salary is the typical holder of a standard card. Even though a standard card is considered a basic, no-frills card, it still is important to carefully review the fees and fine print associated with the standard card because the terms frequently differ among issuers of standard cards.
