American Express® Platinum Business FreedomPass(SM) Card
The American Express Platinum Business FreedomPass card is a great card for someone who runs a small business and wants to take advantage of a rewards program.
The FreedomPass card offers you 5,000 bonus points with the first purchase you make. Once that purchase appears on your monthly statement, you can apply for your points to be made available. The point rate after that is 1 point per dollar spent on the card, with an additional $100 savings for every 7,500 points you accrue. Points never expire, and there are no blackout days or restrictions on use of the points. The only major requirement is that points can only be redeemed in increments of 7,500.
The card is also covered under American Express' OPEN small business benefits program. This program saves you money on many different business oriented services from telephone and mail services, to purchases made at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM. It also offers you fee-free additional cards for the account and a credit line up to $50,000. There are online services where you can manage your accounts and track charges made with the card, chat with other small business owners (a great tool for networking) and ask questions to credit experts. You can even earn points from purchases made by your employees if their cards are registered to your business.
The basic numbers of the card include a 0% introductory interest rate on purchases for six months, and an introductory rate of 7.99% on the lifetime of balance transfers made during the first six months of using the card. Once the introductory period is over, the card's APR is on the high end.
As with all American Express business cards, cardholders have access to various other benefits like insurance for travel, car rental insurance, and further discounts from other retailers.
