3 Types of Penalties with Small Business Credit Cards

When you are working with small business credit cards, you want to do your best to avoid any penalties. Here are a few of the different types of penalties that you could incur with small business credit cards.

1. Late Charges

The first type of penalty that you might have to deal with is late charges. If you do not send in your monthly payment in time, the credit card company is likely to add a late charge to your account. If you do this enough, it can add up significantly over time. Whenever you have a late charge, the credit card company is going to report this to the credit bureaus as well.

2. Interest Rate Changes

Many times, you will be able to take advantage of promotional interest rates with your credit card. These rates are often very low and provide a great tool for your business. However, if you miss a payment, you might lose the access to that interest rate. Many times, they will increase the rate back to the normal credit card rate when this happens.

3. Credit Line Decrease

If you are continuously having problems, they might even decrease the amount of your credit line. This could potentially affect your business's ability to make necessary purchases.
